If I were to Die, I wouldn't want my life to be celebrated with MORE DEATH in the form of Chickens, Hams, Roast Beef, and Fish for dinner...
I wouldn't want to be the cause of MORE DEATH to Beings who also had Loved Ones...
Since many of these beings are social in nature like us, They Too Suffer from the severed bonds between siblings, parents, and, friends...
A particular being could easily be someone's brother, sister, mother, father, friend...
If I were to Die, my death should not be celebrated with MORE DEATH!

When We're in The Wrong...
When we start to justify, to rationalize our mistreatment of others,
We are In The Wrong.
Good needs NO REASON to do Good. It Just Does without fuss...
Adapted from "Bonds that Make Us Free" by Terry C. Warner

The Wandering Poet
A bump, a collision in front of the surly Wreck...
Opening my eyes to something I'd never expect...
Sending my mind to a far foreign place...
A journey to find an Inner Poet's Face...

Inner Truth
Gazing upon your warm glow
Emanating, radiating, connecting
Penetrating, reaching, dissolving
At ease I am soothed, I am comforted, I am filled
As if Truth shone upon my innermost being
Reminding me of something I've always known...
On Control...
The irony of trying to control others...
Is that we ourselves lose control...
Anger, frustration, impatience, irritability, and so on...

Motivated By Addiction?
If many of our motivating factors were nothing more than Addiction,
Then what would it be like to be Free?
How would it affect romance, relationships, food, and lifestyle choices?

Evolution of the Human Heart & Psyche...
If Slavery only ended,
Two lifetimes ago...
Then I must remember,
That we're very slow to grow...
To force a change so sudden
Is way too much to ask...
The way the human heart unfolds
A very grueling task...

Animal Justice?
If justice was being served to those who ate animals With Slow Decline, and Premature Death...
With Heart Disease, Stroke, Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer's, Impotence...
Then would we be as quick to judge?
Are we so cruel as to want to add on to the misfortune of others? Do we throw additional stones and accusations towards those who are already going to suffer?

Perfectly Imperfect.
Ideals are something to be strived for, not necessarily lived out. To be human is to do our best to grow whole with the knowledge that we will remain imperfect. To be humble is to acknowledge our humanity.
The Beings "Above."
A being above me makes me tender and frail...
I cry and scream but to no avail...
I pull and tug with all of my might...
Poked then prodded before my last light...

Just Because...
Because we want to...
Not because we feel we have to...
Not because we demand others do the same...
Not because we want others to think better of us...
Because from the deepest recesses of our soul
We Want To.

We Want To.
What it Means to Me...
A Way of taking care of the only vehicle we've been given in this lifetime,
the vehicle we permanently reside in.
A Way of decreasing the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer's,
impotence of heart and body.
A Symbolic Way of extending kindness and love towards other beings
by means of non-harm, by means of Ahimsa.
A Union of body, mind, and spirit.

The "We" Inside of Us?
Today I caught myself saying, "We need to start writing more." As if writing were some type of team effort... As if my conscious everyday being could not completely take credit for that which comes from me.
I notice many of my of the thoughts I want to write down, come during times of the in-between-state of waking and sleeping. The times when my self-consciousness drops, allowing something else to come forth from me.
So who exactly is this team I refer to when I said "We?" Is it another "Me?" Or is it beyond me?

Enlightenment
Do we point to light discovered,
For others to better see?
Or do we point a sun so scorching,
Causing everyone to flee?
Do we shine light and nourish,
To tend to seeds within?
Or do we break, force, and pry,
Until the inner light goes dim?
For others to better see?
Or do we point a sun so scorching,
Causing everyone to flee?
Do we shine light and nourish,
To tend to seeds within?
Or do we break, force, and pry,
Until the inner light goes dim?
